 PROGRAM UNIT MANAGER
 Key responsibilities
o   Ensure adherence to plan policies and procedures on safety and security
o   Provide visionary leadership, coaching for results and support to the Program Unit (PU) teams in the management of programs, individual development and in the management of their performance
o   Ensure that strategic objectives are achieved
o   Overall managerial accountability for PU performance and impact
o   Managing design and implementation of the PU programs to ensure quality designs, implementation
o   Tracking PU budget to ensure timely and quality investment
o   Facilitate team cohesion and ensure all staff are clear on their individual contribution to the overall program goal
o   Ensure program quality and effectiveness, adequate resource mobilization, appropriate allocation and resource management
o   Establish and maintain strong networks and partnerships at district and county levels to ensure Plan’s image and profile is held in high esteem
o   Ensure existence of controls for proper risk management


Qualifications/experience/Competencies
·      A Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Development studies or related field. Masters degree in development is an advantage
·      At least 5 years’ experience in development work with experience in rights based programming and Community development and participation;
·      Strong coordination, organization and managerial/ supervisory skills/ experience
·      Good communication and influencing skills
·      Strong resource mobilization and budget tracking skills
·      Appreciation and promotion of cultural diversity, innovation and learning
·      Teamwork; positively promotes team effort through shared successes and participatory management and decision making.
·      Experience in partnership building, advocacy and networking with government, INGOs and CBOs;
·      Experience in program design, budgeting and budget management.
