Summary:
To work on an exercise to
clean all scientific data within the programme and migrate to a data warehouse.
REPORTING LINES:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
Data
profiling and data transformation
2.
Validating
the data at multiple milestones during the implementation project
3.
Maintain
documentation and an audit trail of all the data cleansing procedures
4.
Liaise with
the database administrator in loading clean data onto the data warehouse
5.
Maintain
understanding of the ETL tools in use, Stata and appropriate scripting language
for data manipulation.
6.
To
participate in peer user groups, and forums
7.
Responding
promptly and professionally to bug reports.
8.
Implement
data governance policies that span data access, description and security
9.
And any other
duties that may be assigned from time to time.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:
Skills and Qualification
1.
A degree in Computer Science or Statistics.
2.
Two (02)
years equivalent experience in data management
Desirable:
1.
Statistics
experience with Stata or R
2.
Knowledge of
MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MSSQL
3.
Experience in
integration of large and disparate databases
4.
Experience in
medical research data management
COMPETENCIES:
1.
Excellent
knowledge of database design and data modelling
2.
Excellent
skills in data manipulation and statistical analysis
3.
Knowledge of
software development methodologies
4.
worker, able
to work in a multi-cultural environment and with multi-disciplinary teams
5.
Strong
analytical skills
6.
Strong
organization skills with the ability to prioritize and work within tight
deadlines
