Workshop Foreman

Finlays is Kenya’s largest agricultural export group employing over 21,000 people and annually exporting over 300 million stems of flowers, 7 million kilos of vegetables, 26 million kilos of black tea and 3 million kilos of tea extract.

The organisation is geographically located in Nairobi, Naivasha, Kericho, Mt. Kenya and Mombasa and works with 1,200 vegetable out growers and 10,000 tea out growers.

We need dynamic individuals with strong supervisory, planning & organizing skills, interpersonal and communication skills and a team player to fill the following vacant positions in our Kericho operations.


The job holder is expected to
  • provide leadership and overall supervision in sections of the workshops including external work sites to ensure that work is being carried out effectively and efficiently;
  • assign jobs to section heads and artisans within the workshop;
  • keep and monitor a proper inventory of all tools, equipment and machinery used by the workshop personnel ;
  • distribute materials to artisans and ensure that they are being used efficiently;
  • order the right parts of machines for use by artisans;
  • ensure compliance to occupational health and safety requirements;
  • provide technical support to all customers;
  • keep records and generate reports as and when required;
  • assist the section management in areas of cost control e.g. overtime, materials and transport control.

Minimum Requirements
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum related work experience of 5 years in a busy similar set up.
  • Computer literate with hands on experience
