Instrumentation Technician

Finlays is Kenya’s largest agricultural export group employing over 21,000 people and annually exporting over 300 million stems of flowers, 7 million kilos of vegetables, 26 million kilos of black tea and 3 million kilos of tea extract.

The organisation is geographically located in Nairobi, Naivasha, Kericho, Mt. Kenya and Mombasa and works with 1,200 vegetable out growers and 10,000 tea out growers.

We need dynamic individuals with strong supervisory, planning & organizing skills, interpersonal and communication skills and a team player to fill the following vacant positions in our Kericho operations.




The job holder will
  • undertake new installations and maintenance work for Process Instrumentation in factories;
  • lead teams in installation of new instrumentation/electronics projects and modifications;
  • prepare cost estimates for new projects and modifications;
  • repair and maintain instruments on plants and equipment;
  • undertake repair and maintenance jobs at power houses;
  • attend to electrical/ instrumentation emergencies and breakdowns ;
  • provide reinforcement to electricians;
  • undertake inspections and audits assignments;
  • participate in health and safety initiatives/awareness in the work place;
  • order materials and spares for approved jobs;
  • observe and enforce health and safety procedures and requirements at the work place.

Minimum Requirements
  • Craft certificate in Instrumentation/Electronics.
  • 3 years relevant experience, 2 of which should preferably be in busy manufacturing set up.
  • Knowledge of drives and PLCSs.
