offi cials as follows:
A) PRESIDING AND DEPUTY PRESIDING OFFICERS
Requirements
• Be a Kenyan citizen of high integrity, and be
non-partisan;
• Be holders of Degree/ Diploma certifi cates from
recognized institutions;
• Be computer literate, with effective communication and
good report writing skills;
• Must be available for the entire period of the 2013
General Election;
• Must have 1-3 years’ working experience;
• Must be residents in the constituency in which they apply
for and must quote the position and constituency on the application letter and
envelope.
Terms and Conditions
• PO. /DPO. will be on a short-term employment contract for
the actual days worked;
• Wages for POs will be Kshs: 2000/= for each day worked
with no additional benefi ts or allowances;
• Wages for DPOs will be Kshs: 1800/= for each day worked
with no additional benefi ts or allowances.
B) POLLING CLERKS/ COUNTING CLERK
Requirements
• KCSE – Aggregate C- or Division III and above;
• Must be of good character and non-partisan;
• Must be available the entire period of the General
Election;
• Applicants for the position of Polling Clerk/Counting
Clerk must be residents of the Registration centre applied for and must quote
the Registration Centre on the application letter
and envelope (For Registration centre details visit the IEBC
website: www.iebc.or.ke). Please note: Registration centres will be polling
centres during elections.

Terms and Conditions
• Clerks will be on a short-term employment contract for the
actual days worked;
• Wages will be Kshs: 1000/= for each day worked with no
additional benefi ts or allowances;
NB: Applicants attention is drawn to Section 30 of the IEBC
Act in which Members or Employees of the Commission will be held liable on
conviction to a term of imprisonment not
exceeding three years or to a fi ne of not more than one
million shillings or both for subverting the process of free, fair elections or
interfering with the functions of the Commission in
discharging its duty.

the Commission’s website; clearly indicating
positions applied for, Constituency and nearest Registration
Centre OR apply online from IEBC website www.iebc.or.ke/careers. Closing date
